Sermon Series - May 2 through June 13
Christianity: Your Purpose For Life.

While the word Christianity is not used in the bible, it obviously arises from the biblical account of the person, life, and work of Jesus as the Christ.  Christianity rests on the fact that Jesus is, and claims to be, the promised Savior.  Those who accept this fact and this claim are followers or adherents of Christ (Christians), and it is natural that their faith should be called Christianity.  It means accepting Jesus as the Christ, finding the revelation of God in Him, entering into the reconciliation with God that He has effected, knowing Him in His resurrection from the dead.  We will examine a biblical perspective on how to be a Christian and fulfill our spiritual purpose in life.

May 2               Founded on Christ                              1 Corinthians 3:1-23

11 For no one can lay any foundation other than the one that has been laid; that foundation is Jesus Christ.

May 9               Based on doctrines                              1 Cor. 15:1–4
that he was buried; that he was raised from death on the third day, again exactly as Scripture says

May 16             Centers in salvation                             Acts 4:8-12
12
There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among mortals by which we must be saved.”

May 23              Produces change                                Romans 5:1-11

but we also boast in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, 4 and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, 5 and hope does not disappoint us, Also is Pentecost

May 30              Exhibits the fruit of the Spirit               Galatians 5:16-26
By contrast, the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, 23
gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against such things.

June 6                Zealous for good deeds                       Titus 2:7, 11-15
14
He it is who gave himself for us that he might redeem us from all iniquity and purify for himself a people of his own who are zealous for good deeds.

June 13              Leads to Obedience and Imitation         1 Peter 2:21-25
For to this you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you should follow in his steps.
